Robotic sales associate

Retail chain AEON Co. announced that it will be placing the service robot enon in one of it's stores as a trial till Dec. 25.  It will be the first real world trial for enon, which was developed by the Fujitsu group.  The robot will greet and escort customers.  According to the wired news service Kyodo News, the robot had a swearing in ceremony where he (she?) made a speech stating that he will try his best to "be liked" by his customers."  Not to be helpful, but to be "liked."  Now THAT'S really Japanese.
