Nissan Uses Robot Power Suit to Sell Cars (Video)
What if your car could magically transform into a humanoid power suit giving you the super human ability to weave through the city, in and out and even high above the traffic? Wouldn't that be amazingly cool?
Nissan obviously thinks so, and believes that their customers will think the same way. Their new Dualis advertising promotion (see videos below) in Japan features a futuristic power suit that makes today's most advanced vehicles seem like "Version 0.0004".
According to the Nissan website, the Dualis concept was developed by Shoji Kawamori and is based on the writings of Robert Heinlein, especially Starship Troopers (1959). Kawamori is well known his early work for Takara's Diaclone series that later gained worldwide fame as Transformers, the Macross anime series and also the design of the Sony Aibo ERS-220 model.
Whether or not the Dualis promotion will sell more cars for Nissan or contribute to their bottom line remains to be seen. Still, it's fun to dream.
